Indiana--Vote Early, Vote Often Say Dems...
As I mentioned at the top of the page, I find much of what passes for the normal in America absurd, and the Democrats' latest lawsuit is no exception--Indiana would like to require photo ID in order to vote, but Democrats have sued in federal court to block the measure, claiming that it will create an unfair barrier to voting for the poor, the elderly, the disabled and minorities...in spite of the fact that those who do not have a driver's license and can't afford to pay for a state identification card can be issued a state ID for free. What this amounts to is a tacit admission that Democrats don't want fair elections, they want the continued opportunity to have their operatives vote early and often.
Dan Parker, chairman of the state Democratic Party, said there have been no recorded instances of voter fraud at the polls that could be prevented by the bill. This is known as the "Bart Simpson" defense--"You didn't see me, nobody can prove a thing, that's our story and we're sticking to it"...this modus operandi has, of course, been used with great success by the Clintons as well.
I only hope that the minorities and the elderly, those who the Democrats are insulting with the insinuation that they are either too stupid or too lazy to get the required free ID, appreciate the fact that the Democratic Party takes them for granted and sees them only as pawns in a greater power struggle...
